The
American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS), Michigan State
University (MSU), and truTV will present a Forensic Science
Educational Conference (FSEC/MSU) on the campus of MSU, August
4-7, 2008.
The four-day conference is designed to provide instruction to secondary school
science teachers on the use of the scientific method in the
investigation of crime, and how to develop a forensic science
course and incorporate the excitement of forensic science into
their curriculum. Each day will include lectures and hands-on
workshops conducted by AAFS specialists from a variety of fields,
introducing teachers to experiments and exercises that are age
appropriate and fascinating for students, while involving minimum
cost to set up and run. There will be sessions on how to set
up mock crime scenes, visits with crime lab personnel, and numerous
other events.
